Colton Jacobson is the young pop phenom and YouTube sensation known for his amazing home videos of him singing covers of hit songs such as 'It Will Rain' by Bruno Mars, 'Someone Like You' by Adele and 'Firework' by Katy Perry. Colton became well aware of his God given vocal talent at a young age; however, it wasn't until he sang an a capella version of 'Imagine' by the Beatles at his 5th grade talent show that he realized how powerful his gift was. Colton's talent show performance was received by a standing ovation from an audience of over 200 people, and from that moment on, Colton knew exactly what he wanted to do for the for the rest of his life.
Following Colton’s milestone talent show performance, he began to take piano and singing lessons at a local music studio. When Colton was 12 years old, he was asked to sing the National Anthem for the Frisco Rough Riders (Texas Ranger’s AA Baseball Franchise) after participating in an open audition. That same year, Colton was one of eight young artists whom were hand selected from a nationwide search to audition for Simon Fuller’s Boy Band for the Next Generation Project, also known as IM5 (co-produced by Jamie King and Perez Hilton) in Los Angeles, CA. In late 2010, Colton joined the Septien Entertainment Group based out of Dallas, TX where he is fortunate enough to receive vocal coaching from Linda Septien. Ms. Septien is known for coaching some of the most successful young musical talent in the industry today such as Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez and Jessica Simpson. In June 2011, Colton received the prestiges honor of being asked to join the Septien Entertainment Group’s Master Artist Program.
In July of 2011, Colton introduced himself to the world via YouTube. In less than 6 months, Colton’s YouTube videos received over 1,750,000 views, resulting in him capturing over 12,500 Subscribers and 30,000 Friends on his YouTube Channel. In the same period of time, he has accumulated over 100,000 Twitter followers and received more than 21,500 Facebook likes. Colton’s popularity is growing by the day. He is quickly building an army of fans that are truly inspired by his music.
Colton just recently returned from Tampa, FL where he partnered with TMI Entertainment to record his debut album titled 'Now or Never', scheduled to be released via Universal Music Group Distribution in 2012 with his first two singles (Sand Castle & Last Forever – 'The Beginning') released on February 28, 2012 via iTunes, Amazon and other digital distribution sources and Internet Radio. Many of Colton’s songs were written to speak to the youth of today to inspire them to follow their dreams and to never let bullies and haters hold them down.
As a result of Colton’s viral success, he has had the opportunity to perform at the House of Blues in Dallas, TX, Palladium Ballroom, Hard Rock Café and Six Flags Over Texas. Colton also performed live with his band at 'The Blind Pig' sponsored by RedGorilla during 2012 SXSW Music Festival in Austin, TX. In addition, he has performed at the McKinney Performing Arts Center along with American Idol Season 8 finalist Michael Sarver and American Idol Season 5 winner Taylor Hicks as well as opened for American Idol contestant Tim Halperin at the 2011 Plano October-Feast. Most recently, Colton auditioned and made the 2012 Kidd Kraddick Rock Band sponsored by The Kidd Kraddick In The Morning Show (syndicated in over 70 Top 40 Radio Markets across the United States) and had the honor of performing LIVE on the air with Amy Heidemann from the band Karmin.
To give back to his local community, Colton recorded the song 'Mary Did You Know” on a Christmas Album sponsored by Bethlehem Place benefiting families in need as well as performed at the 2012 Carry The Load Celebration honoring families of fallen Soldiers, Fire Fighters and Police Officers.
Colton currently has a full album of 12 songs recorded and ready for distribution. The Official Music Video of his single Sand Castle is scheduled to be released in September 2012 on VEVO, YouTube and TV. Two additional tracks from his album are scheduled to be released in the Winter of 2012 along with another music video. |
